May 3rd InstallFest
- The Boston Linux and Unix User Group (BLU) and the IT Club will
hold a Linux InstallFest on Saturday, May 3rd, from 9 AM to 5 PM
- It will be held in the McCormack Conference Room, M03-0721
- The BLU has been meeting monthly since 1994
- It's members include some the most knowledgable Linux and Unix
people in the Boston area
What Happens at an InstallFest?
- An InstallFest is a meeting where BLU members help people
with Linux installation and other hands-on issues
- You can chose ANY version of Linux for installation on your machine
- Linux can be installed on a machine in three ways
- Replace the current operating system with Linux
- Install Linux as a dual boot
- Install the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
- When Linux is installed as a dual boot, two operating systems
are available on the machine
- The user can chose which operating system to use at boot time
- The BLU volunteers will be happy to discuss any Linux issue
even if you don't bring a machine

- Go to the 3rd Floor of McCormack
- In the main hallway, turn to face the rear of the building
- Walk all the way to the end of the hallway
- Pass through the green doors
- Turn right
- Take your first left down a small ramp
- Turn right and walk down the corridor
- M03-0721 is the conference room at the end of the hall
