As a former Plastics Engineer for Andersen Windows, I can state that everything Lawrence Schwirian, Architect AIA
and Chairman, Newton Upper Falls Historic District reported in his earlier message regarding the benefits of the fiberglass composite window made from lineal pultrusions is accurate. My suggestion is to contact any of the major window manufacturers to obtain weathering and testing data on the fiberglass product to have as a reference to support their standard advertising info.
Andersen Windows has been offering this type of product since 1985 with the Flexiframe product line (remember all of the octagon windows we saw being installed back then?...Flexiframes) The "big three", Andersen, Marvin, and Pella, all offer a fiberglass window line now:
Andersen - Flexiframe
Marvin - Infinity
Pella - Impervia
Although this article is also an ad for Pella, it's very comprehensive and accurate:

This is good information. Would it be possible for you to provide a source
for this info? If we are to use such arguments in review cases, it is
helpful to be able to cite the authority. The fact that you are an
architect helps, but may not be sufficient
