Staff of the Massachusetts Historical Commission is currently undertaking a file reorganization in its public research area including the Inventory files and National Register of Historic Places files. The reorganization is expected to take a week or two to accomplish. During this period the inventory and National Register files will not be accessible; the research area is  closed to the public this week, and possibly until the beginning of January.  If you are planning to come to MHC to undertake research in the files the last week of December, please call the office first to check if the rearch area is open.
