[MassHistPres] commission nominating processes

This is a short (ungraded) quiz -- answers to any parts will be welcomed

A) It would be interesting in knowing how many localities do and do
not actually go through the formal nominating process for an
architect, broker, and historian per 40c using the specified
nominating organizations.

B) Especially re the Historical society/Spnea nominations called for
in 40c, do any localities put much effort into getting someone with
some level of qualifications in history -- beyond just interest or
enthusiasm.

C) A quick Google only showed Sommerville as having an explicit
statutory requirement for the nomination of an "historian". Are
there others?

D) Brookline's bylaw substitutes the commission itself as a
nominating organization in lieu of the Historical society or Spnea
(presumably the intent was still to meet the spirit of 40c). Are
there any other examples of non-Historical society or Spnea
nominators for the "historian" slot?

E) Does anyone know of an instance where an appointment was made not
in conformity with the local bylaw and/or 40c -- either re
professional qualifications or re non-observance of the nominating
process, or re non-residence in an LHD -- which was later
reconsidered or blocked in some manner because it did not conform?
