[MassHistPres] Archaeology and Moving Historic Buildings

[Boston Affiliates Archaeology]

As an archaeologist as well as an architectural historian, I want to remind
those on the list who are thinking about or involved in moving a historic
structure that significant archaeological deposits may be present within and
near the building that document aspects of the building's history and/or
the behaviors, values, and identies of past inhabitants or even of
prehistoric peoples who may have lived in the area prior to historic
settlement.
