[MassHistPres] early iron

This iis a bit of a strange request but I am a little stumped on how to find this out. I am part of a group experimenting in early iron production using a direct reduction or bloomery process. Many towns in Massachusetts had very small bloomery operations, including my town of Southborough (1729-1790?), probably only producing for local use. There is a workshop organized by the core members once a year, this year at the Peters Valley Crafts Center in NJ Oct6-8. This years workshop is focusing on different sources of iron ore and I am very interested in finding a site in the Berkshires where I might collect about 100lbs of good quality iron ore? For that matter I would also be interested in a site where I could collect bog ore? The workshop is open to anyone interested, let me know if you want information.
