[MassHistPres] black asphalt

We are in the process of, over a period of time, building bike paths on all the major roads in our town, including the historic district. The first ones that have appeared are black asphalt, and some people object to their appearance.

I read somewhere that there are simple ways to mitigate the shiny black asphalt look, something about sprinkling stone dust right after its laid down... and I would like to hear from anyone who can offer guidance... the bike path committee has asked to meet with the HDC to see if we have any concerns, or advice to offer.
