Betsy, I sympathize with your having to go through this type of battle.
Many a "park" has replaced a historic building, but compared to a good old
Town Hall that is architecturally and historically significant to a
community, a park is likely to be nothing but blank space. If you are
particularly looking for Greek Revival examples, you might contact the Stow
Historical Commission, where their old Town Hall, located across Rte. 117
from their newer one, is used for community meeting space.
