DO NOT use any kind of pressure washer on the stone, particularly on the
limestone. It's very easy to damage the stone permanently with a hasty
attempt to scrub away the paint.

on a building as significant as the one you describe.

Also make sure the tag is documented with photographs so the vandal can
be identified and held accountable for damaging a historic resource.
