In Sundderland, the old town hall (photo at

has been converted into the Blue Heron Restaurant. The downstairs is used
for the kitchen, bar, and a cozy dining room. The auditorium upstairs is
the main dining room (see right hand photo at
http://www.blueherondining.com/) with the stage still intact.
I believe that the town sold the building to the restaurant owners for $1
and that they did the renovation work themselves - and did a beautiful job.
