[MassHistPres] azek & wood & copper gutters

I agree Azek will break down sooner than later. Best reason not to use them:
Azek gutters (the 4x5") are $20 per foot. Wood gutters are $10 per foot.
Just material cost; granted Azek is probably cheaper to install in certain
situations.

I can't think why anyone would assume Azek, being a form of PVC, would
survive for more than 20 years in such a UV exposed situation. And, as
noted by others. PVC is already being treated as a low level hazardous waste
in some parts of the EU.

Modern fir gutters will last if oiled and maintained. If not, they won't.

For several years Brookline has allowed copper as a de facto like-kind
replacement for wood in most cases, as long as the profile is consistent.
The primary argument for the copper has not been longevity as much as
capacity. We have seen more such replacements than I initially expected.
