Department of Public Works
The Town of Wellesley, acting through its Board of Public Works, invites
bids for:
Dismantling and Preservation of the Original Town Hall, Wellesley, MA,
Contract No. 09C-10-01
Proposers may obtain copies of the specifications and bidding material from
the office of the Board of Public Works, 455 Worcester Street, Wellesley, MA,
on and after July 23, 2008.
All Proposers are required to attend a Pre-submission site visit on August
7th at 10:00 A.M. at the Wellesley Country Club, 294 Wellesley Avenue,
Wellesley, MA.
Specifications also provide that the proposer to whom the contract is
awarded shall be required, as a condition of such award, to furnish a Performance
and Payment Bond in a form satisfactory to the Board of Public Works as
outlined in the RFP, to ensure the faithful performance of the contract, and a
Surety Company Bond acceptable to the Board and equal to the amount of the
proposal for payment of labor and materials, to ensure the completion of the work
in accordance with provisions of the specifications and the terms of the
contract.
All proposals for this contract are subject to the provisions of
Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30B, as amended.
Proposals may be delivered to the Director’s Office in the Utility Building,
455 Worcester Street, Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, up to 3 p.m. EDT on
August 21, 2008.
All proposals must be submitted in two (2) separate envelops: one for the “
Technical Proposal” and the other for the “Price Proposal”. The separately
sealed envelopes shall be plainly marked, respectively:
“Technical Proposal”
“Dismantling and Preservation of the Original Town Hall, Wellesley, MA,
Contract No. 09C-10-01”
“Price Proposal”
“Dismantling and Preservation of the Original Town Hall, Wellesley, MA,
Contract No. 09C-10-01”
The successful proposer will commence the work required by the Contract
Documents on or before a date specified in a written Notice to Proceed and will
fully complete the project within 90 consecutive calendar days, unless the
period for completion is extended otherwise by the contract documents.
Failure to comply with these requirements may be deemed to render a proposal
nonresponsive.
The Board of Public Works reserves the right to accept any bid, waive any
informalities or minor defects, or to reject any or all bids if, in its sole
judgment, it is in the best interest of the Town of Wellesley to do so. This
project is subject to funding appropriation.
