Hello,

The 6/3 boston.com article announcing the governor's appointment of a "creative economy" director states that the term is defined as the sum of non-profits and for-profits firms that center on visual and preforming arts (film, advertising, architecture and tourism) as arts and cuture related businesses and programs. This also includes museums and theatres.

MassMoca is mentioned by Rep.Dan Bosley. This is only one of many cultural-preservation projects. However, as often is the case, its not clear that this cluster includes and is enabled by cultural preservation i.e. buildings, neighborhoods, landscapes etc. Too often culture has been spelled with a "K" and, along with history, culture is a poorly understood subject.

Has anyone else insight into this promising idea?
