Preservation Planner
The Town of Brookline is seeking a preservation planner to work on efforts
to preserve and protect the cultural resources of the town, including
administration of the Towns five Local Historic Districts and a town-wide
Demolition Delay bylaw. Under the direction of the Director of Planning
and Community Development, the planner will provide staff support to the
Preservation Commission, and will work in close consultation with other
Town departments. The position requires frequent contact with the general
public, as well as state agencies involved in historic preservation. A
working knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to historic
preservation planning, architectural history, and cultural and landscape
resources is essential. Strong administrative and public speaking skills
are also required. Bachelors degree plus two years experience in
historic preservation required; Masters degree and additional experience
highly desirable. Salary $56K plus generous benefits.
