I am forwarding to following announcement for those who may not have  
seen it elsewhere.  Arthur Krim, most famously the savior of the CITGO  
sign is a consultant who has worked for a number of communities around  
the state.

  "Route 66: Iconography of an American Highway"

  Arthur Krim, urban historian, will present material from his recent  
book
  on Route 66 this Monday, 9/15 from 5:30-7:30pm at UMass Boston. The
  lecture will be held in the 11th floor of the Healey Library, room
  0011B. A reception will follow the Q&A period.

  Free and open to the public, no registration required. This lecture is
  the Annual Flaherty Lecture, sponsored by the Research Center for  
Urban
  Cultural History at UMass Boston.
