The John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is
hosting a free workshop on September 18, titled "Preparing Massachusetts
Historical Commission Inventory Forms." MHC inventory forms document
historic properties, serve as the basis of National Register nominations
and local historic district designations, and provide critical information
when a state or federally-sponsored project is being reviewed for its
impact on historic resources. This workshop will discuss how to design a
successful inventory project and cover the ins-and-outs of completing the
inventory form – critical information for members of local historical
commissions, and also helpful for planning boards, other municipal
volunteers and residents who are interested in the inventory process and
how it can help protect their community's historic resources.
This FREE workshop will take place on Thursday, September 18 from 6:30 to
8:30 p.m. at the Brigham Hill Community Barn, 37 Wheeler Road in North
Grafton. To register, please RSVP to Elsa Fitzgerald at Preservation
Massachusetts: elsafitzgerald at aol.com or 978-535-5556.
This workshop was developed by Preservation Massachusetts, in collaboration
with the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
Please share this announcement with others you think may be interested --
all are welcome.
