This e-newsletter from the Massachusetts Historical Commission
Preservation Planning Division has been prepared for local historical
commissions, historic district commissions and others interested in
historic preservation activities around the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts. It is published roughly every other week. If you have

WORKSHOP ON HISTORIC BARNS IN SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS
The Trustees of Reservations and Preservation Massachusetts are
sponsoring a free workshop on barns of southeastern Massachusetts.
Topics include understanding the different types of barns found in the
region, tips on stabilizing deteriorating barns until full preservation
can begin and how the Community Preservation Act can benefit a variety
of historic preservation projects. Speakers include master timber
framer Ian Ellison and other Massachusetts historic preservation
specialists. To register and to submit pictures of local barns with
specific questions, email Kelley Whitmore at kwhitmore at ttor.org

encouraged but not required. It will be held Monday, November 16 at
6:30PM at the Bristol County Agricultural High School Library, 135

NEW LOCAL HISTORIC DISTRICT STUDY COMMITTEE
The Board of Selectmen for the town of Easton recently voted to
establish a Local Historic District Study Committee.
