There's this from the Moore House, built circa 1750 in Southwick MA -

Similar curliecues, but a bit flatter and not as high-style as your example.

Subject: [MassHistPres] staircase detail - 1700s
Has anyone seen decorative detail like this along stairs before? Does the
style have a particular name? It comes from a Norfolk County house built
between 1760-1790.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and comments.
