For those who don't know the Society of Architectural Historians / New
England, it has an always stimulating upcoming event:
The 31st annual SAH Student Symposium is Saturday, Feb. 21, in Bush
Room 10-105 at M.I.T., from 9 am to 1 pm. There will be nine short
talks by grad and advanced undergrad students from around New England
who have been selected by their professors. Topics range from
Romanian ruins to Sert's BU buildings to Robert Adam's Chinoiserie to
movement and urban design to urban design responses to the long hot
summer of '67.
SAH is also co-sponsoring a symposium. "Designing Sociability: Then
and Now", at the Pollack Fine Arts Center, Brandeis University, 6:30
pm, Thursday, March 26. (In the best academic tradition of obscure
titles! Maybe someone knows what it is about.)
