Not sure if these are available only to members - but if you are a member of Preservation Massachusetts (www.preservationmass.org) or even if not (perhaps you will want to join) you may be able to find the reading lists - bibliographies - that are handed out at the Historic District-Historical Commission (HDHC) Committee training workshops - Preservation 101 - basic preservation planning, Preservation 201 - Survey (geared to MA), Preservation 302 - National Register. I guess I would contact PM to find out - or perhaps learn about future workshops.......

  Good luck, there are volumes!

Lately I have been reading some architectural books such as:

Gaining Ground by Nancy S. Seasholes
Antique Houses of Gloucester by Prudence Paine Fish
East Cambridge (Survey of architectural history in Cambridge) by Susan E.
    Maycock

I am wondering if anyone knows of a comprehensive list of books that deals
specifically with Massachusetts architecture. If so, could you point me in
that direction? I would like to read more about the historical architecture
    of our state.

    Thank you!
