The Salem Historical Commission has been struggling with applications
for architectural shingles (usually denying them). We are working on
revising our draft guidelines and I will send you the current draft
directly to your email. The Commission has recently approved GAF/Elk
Grand Slate roof in Bristol Gray which is a compromise between 3 tab and
architectural.

Subject: [MassHistPres] Architectural Shingles
Does anyone have any recommendations for architectural shingles for the
roof of a Shingle style home? The owner would like to use Tamko
Heritage XL shingles to replace red 3-tab asphalt shingles.

/itemid/3808/Default.aspx. This is a definite upgrade from the existing
conditions, but to my mind less than optimal.
