In 1701 The Town of Milton was given a parcel of land under the will of Gov. 
Stoughton for the benefit of the Towns Poor. Over the years it has been used 
for a number of purposes including a farm and an Alms House. It is largely used 
except for 1 house that is used as a rental property. The 5 mid to later 19th 
century structures are in a serious state of disrepear.The landscape has some 
historic walls and fences. The Selectmen serve as Trustees of the Gov 
Soughton Will.Serveral Town Residents have proposed that the Poor Farm be placed on 
the National Register. Do the Selectman (there are 3) have to submit the 
National Regisister Petition or can Town Residents submit the Petition
