[MassHistPres] Comments due by Wednesday on new National Register photo policy

As you may know, comments on the National Park Service's draft photo policy
are due Wednesday, March 18. (They can be submitted via e-mail.)
And while the policy will likely be in place for a period of years, it omits
an inexpensive (< $100) tool that is increasingly widely used in documenting
property photos: Geotagging.
Geotagging refers to capturing the precise location of each photograph.
Within 12 - 24 months geotagging capabilities will be built into many more
mid-range and above digital cameras, and the cost of the stand-alone devices
will be even less than it is today.

While the policy-setting process is unclear, comments supporting using the
simple, modern, inexpensive technologies available now may help encourage
some movement on this.
It's interesting to note that some states, such as North Carolina, have
shown leadership in the move to digital National Register submissions:
