Terry,

If you can send me some pictures of the roof and the date the cedar was
installed, I can help you to determine what's left in it's life. Depending
on the accumulation of moss, it may even be keeping water out at this point!

Copper or zinc strips will kill the moss, but again if the moss is keeping
the water on the exterior of the structure, this might not be a good idea to
install at this point.

If the chimney's not functioning, you should contemplate capping it to keep
water out.

Our forte is slate, but I'm willing to help.
