[MassHistPres] demolition of Frank Lloyd Wright House

As Dennis has said and Tris affirms, this house bears no resemblance whatsoever to the work of Frank Lloyd Wright.  It's the power of words and a famous name.  I cannot tell you how many instances I have heard of houses that have had the "Gropius" attribution placed on them if they show the slightest signs of being modern.  The most amusing example of this is perhaps the wonderful Purcell and Elmslie House in Wood's Hole (also attributed by some to Wright) which was designed more than two decades before Gropius ever set foot in America.  

 

Truth is sometimes a tertiary concern when it comes to trumpeting the value of a property.

Even If that was FLW's,, it would be the very worst he ever designed. It actually is an insult to him and looks more like it was a claim dreamed up for selling it.

	A friend was in a Frank Lloyd Wright designed house in Wellsley as they were selling some of the contents. The owner told him that the buyer of the house was going to demolish it in order to build a a mcmansion which is the dominant style of house in this neighborhood.
