Preservation Worcester has an opening for the part-time position of
Education Director.

Education Director

 

 

The Education Director develops plans, promotes, supports, and presents
education programs for adults and children focusing on the sites and
structures which are significant to the culture, history and architecture of
Worcester.

 

Duties

 

1.	Docent recruitment, training, continuing education and scheduling
2.	School program and curriculum development including lesson plans,
materials, classroom teaching and program scheduling
3.	Adult program development including research, materials preparation,
training, presentation and logistics
4.	Library, National Register files, and program materials maintenance 
5.	Grant writing
6.	Marketing and public relations of education programs
7.	Liaison between docents and the organization
8.	Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

 

Background and Skills Desired

 

1.	BA with experience in relevant field 
2.	Public speaking skills
3.	Writing skills - grant and curriculum
4.	Teaching skills
5.	Ability to work with volunteers and professionals
6.	Strong organizational and management skills
7.	Strong computer skills
8.	Marketing and/or public relations experience

 

Hours - Part-time, 24 hours per week

Salary - $32,000
