I'd contact a couple of places for references including:

http://www.historicnewengland.org/
formerly SPNEA, they operate many of the historic home sites in New England and hence should have good experience with moving & protecting antiques of many sizes, shapes, ages & conditions

www.bostonhistory.org/
smaller organization, but many of the comments above also apply here

www.mfa.org/
The Boston Museum of Fine Arts

And last, consider using these folks as one of your 3
http://www.gentlegiant.com/index.php
They not only provide moving services, but also furniture & antique restoration services. I have not worked with them, and so cannot speak to their quality or reliability, but the combination of services at least leads one to believe that they might be good candidates for moving antiques.

Good luck

I'm a member of the Wrentham Historical Commission. We have a large collection of artifacts ranging from furniture and costumes to maps, plans, photographs and books. We are in the process of organizing and moving some of the collection to another facility. Due to the size of the task, we realize we need some professional help. We've received a proposal from National Library Relocations to assist us in this task, but need to have two other quotes in order to satisfy the town to release the funding. I've searched the Preservation Mass directory, but that mostly seems to concentrate on buildings. Is there anyone who can recommend other companies that might help us with our task? Thanks in advance.
