[MassHistPres] The Economical Historic Home: Energy Efficiency Basics for the Old House Owner

Historic New England is pleased to partner with Preserve Rhode Island, The Newport Restoration Foundation, and the Providence Revolving Fund to offer The Economical Historic Home: Energy Efficiency Basics for the Old House Owner, coming to the Philip Walker House, 432 Massasoit Avenue, East Providence, Rhode Island. Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. 
 
The c. 1724 Walker House, recently upgraded for energy efficiency, will provide the setting for this hand's-on workshop with information and demonstrations on reducing energy consumption without harming either your budget or your historic home. 
 
Topics covered will include: assessing and weatherizing the building envelope, recommendations on how and where to add insulation, wood window repair and restoration, upgrading heating and cooling systems, retrofitting for renewable energy, and tax credits and funding sources.
