I recommend Bob Leonard at Ould Colony Artisans, He has made date
plaques for several Massachusetts towns:
207-779-0707

Bob Leonard (wife is Judy)

Ould Colony Artisans

475 Titcomb Hill Road

PO Box 978

Farmington, ME 04938

OuldColony at aol.com

Bob makes all his signs by hand and hand paints in early font of your
choice.
Signs are made of MDO (medium density overlay) weatherproofed wood,
with 2 coats of special oil-based
primer and a topcoat of oil-based enamel. Edges receive 6 coats of
paint. Holes are drilled and screws provided for installation.

His prices are very reasonable. --a 12 x 16" is $65. We are talking
to him about a wooden frame for a "you are here" sign--with a vinyl
village map (which another company in Farmington makes, also
reasonably priced) that will withstand New England weather--that way
no plexiglas or glass cover is needed which trap moisture.
