The Boston Preservation Alliance is
pleased to announce their “Gala on the Greenway,” to be held on May 13, 2010 at
6 p.m. Governor Michael S. Dukakis and Frederick P. Salvucci, former
Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth, will be honored with the
Alliance’s first “Living Icons” award for their vision in conceiving Boston's
Central Artery Project and fortitude in making it a reality.

Guests will
enjoy both silent and live auctions featuring a range of exciting items including
travel packages, tickets to cultural and sporting events, gift certificates to
Boston’s finest restaurants and historic hotels, as well as novelties related
to preservation. Proceeds from the auction will support the Boston Preservation
Alliance’s efforts to preserve Boston’s invaluable historic built environment
through leadership, education, and advocacy.

The Gala and Auction will be held at Goulston & Storrs,
400 Atlantic Avenue. Built in 1900 and located directly on the Greenway,
the venue boasts magnificent views of Boston’s historic waterfront.

Founded in
1978, the Boston Preservation Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that protects and improves the quality of Boston's distinct architectural
heritage. Through advocacy and education, we bring people and
organizations together to influence the future of Boston's historic buildings,
landscapes and communities.

Tickets cost
$150. For more information on the event or to reserve tickets, please
