 Yes, but the only place that vinyl lasts for 125 years is in the landfill...

There are some great approaches in their brochure... I usually have the same trains of thought when helping realize that they can maintain a 125 year old slate roof!

Fantastic!  I was always humbled for a moment to be a preservation student whose family lived in a house with vinyl bricks, T1-11 siding, etc and a father who worked in coal mining.  I have since reconciled that particular vision.  Now I live in the land of shingles - and vinyl siding, trim, or anything isn't allowed.  What a change!

Thanks for the interesting read.  Still makes me go back to the need for the National Trust to take significant leadership role with the media on preservation issues such as windows and vinyl.
