Dear Jill:

Thank you for the truth-check. So much of what passes for historical
interpretation is feel-good speculation-in fact, that would be a good
way to describe the entire Colonial Revival Movement.

I'll try this again:

Before people start circulating this "information" about the secret
codes contained in quilts, you owe it to yourselves to read what an
Underground Railroad scholar has to say about it. See:
http://www.antiquequiltdating.com/Hidden_in_Plain_View_-_The_Secret_Stor
y_of_Quilts_and_the_Underground_Railroad.html

Or if you simply Google the book's title Hidden in Plain View: A Secret
Story of Quilts and the Underground Railroad, you will get at least 3
links on the first page (6th, 9th & 10th) that provide a rebuttal to the
premise of this book.
