[MassHistPres] Mapping

Garrett,

The tool I'm talking about is one that creates a single, new, locus map
pdf for a property that is being documented on an MHC inventory form to
be submitted to MHC.

MHC has also been developing a web GIS system (MACRIS MAPS) that
displays the locations of MACRIS properties. The function you describe,
ie selecting a set of MACRIS properties based on certain attributes
(like construction date) and displaying their locations, is definitely
part of our concept for this. But it probably won't be included in the
first public version of MACRIS MAPS that becomes available.

Assets of the Commonwealth

Michael,

Is there any possability that the mapping tool could show properties in
an area with a "built before 18 _ _" or "built between 1825 and 1875" so
that the ability to visually track expansion could be available?

Cheers,
Garrett

Though it has been used for a few survey projects, this tool is not yet
in general release, and is only one of a number of options available to
create accurate locus maps for inventory forms. Again contact Peter
Stott at MHC if you have mapping questions relative to inventory forms.
