In Worcester there are four diners listed on the National Register. Some
probably still have their original wheels. There are many more National
Register listed diners across the state in the same condition. They might
all be in limbo as far as this definition of structure goes!

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I hold it in any fondness, but here’s
the definition from Amherst’s demolition delay bylaw:
"Structure" - Any edifice, object or building of any kind that is
constructed or erected and requires more or less permanent
location on the ground or attachment to an object with permanent location
on the ground, not including wheels.

Subject: [MassHistPres] definition of structure

Do any communities out there have a definition of ‘structure’ in a demo
delay or other bylaw, of which you are particularly fond, and seems to work
well?
Thanks very much-
