Betty,
We recently completed at project on a historically registered house in
Brookline, MA that now has a Sunslate solar roof on it. The solar material
assimilates slate as do the asphalt shingles that were chosen to complement
it.
A few years ago we installed the same material for Mass Audubon's Boston
Nature Center with natural slate on the East, West and North sides of the
same roof. The original material in both cases was asphalt.
