[MassHistPres] Query: tooling on stone

Has anyone seen tooling on stone like that on the door jambs and lintel in
this image, below: fairly widely spaced, parallel grooves?

This is from an 1862-65 textile mill in Dudley, Mass., Stevens Linen Works
(recently nominated to the National Register). The mill has stone walls, and
the stonework is unusual. I've never seen the like before. But perhaps
members of this listserv have seen something similar, and it needn't be on a
mill. Dennis DeWitt noticed that the decoration on a tomb in a North
Weymouth cemetery is similar, although I don't know the date of it:

Who built the mill is unknown.

You can email me off the list if you wish.

Thanks,
