Relative to this discussion of posting information on line, keep in mind
(as I think we've previously announced to this list) that we are
actively scanning and posting all of the inventory forms and National
Register nominations on file with the Massachusetts Historical
Commission, working backwards through the alphabet on the inventory, and
working backward in time (now to 2000) on the National Register
nominations. These files are linked to the record files in the on-line
MACRIS database, and they can be searched using MACRIS.

Numerous LHCs have put up their copies of their inventories on their web
sites already, but if your LHC hasn't yet, you might consider whether or
not a link to MACRIS might serve your purposes.
MHC inventory forms do not require current or recent owner names, though
researchers completing the forms may include this information, and
perhaps do more often now that that information is so easily available
on line.
