The American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) is the national association for conservators, and establish the Codes of Ethics and Standards for Practice for the profession (by which I have required all contracted conservators to abide for over 20 years). They publish an annual directory of all institutional and member conservators, cross-referenced by location and specialty, and provide referrals in all disciplines through the FAIC.

BTW There is a sister organization in Canada, and also an international organization for conservators.

Henry,
The Consultants Directory posted on the Preservation Massachusetts website, www.preservationmass.org<http://www.preservationmass.org>, lists a number of Conservators for you to contact.
Just click on "Resources" on the homepage for the Consultants Directory and look under Materials Conservation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Elsa Fitzgerald
