Technology & Conservation, the Boston Society of Architects' 
Historic Resources Committee, and the MIT Dept. of Architecture's 
Building Technology Program have organized an intensive two-day 
conference/training program  – WOOD IN THE 21st CENTURY: Design and Preservation of Contemporary & Historic Architecture – which will be held on the MIT campus on Saturday, March 24-Sunday, March 25, 2012.



The schedule is shown at the end of this 
e-mail. Over 25 noted architects, engineers, and researchers will give 
presentations. In addition, conference attendees will be able to attend 
an optional program on Monday, March 26 (at no additional cost) that 
will focus on wood in the maritime environment and on upgrading existing
 wood structures to meet contemporary requirements. The registration fee
 prior to Jan. 30, 2012 is $450/person; after Jan. 30, 2012, the 
registration fee is $525/person. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
