The historic Man-Ray House at 49 Seekonk Street Norfolk will be demolished
next spring unless it is moved. The house, built in 1797, is a five bay two
story house with a central chimney with six fire places. It is located
close to Seekonk Street. The Norfolk Historical Commission is working with
the owner who has agreed to allow it to be moved. The house has been in the
Man and Ray family since it was built and has strong historical associations
with Norfolk History. A detailed description is on file with Mass Historical
Commission Historical and Architectural Inventory. If anyone has interest in
moving a historic house within Norfolk or one of the surrounding towns of
Foxboro, Wrentham, Franklin, Millis, Medway, or Medfield, please respond
to Betsy Pyne, Norfolk Historical Commission, at betsypyne at gmail.com.
