Smith College in Northampton has an excellent intern program. Our office worked one summer with an intern from this program who also shared time with the Orleans Historical Society. She did all the research associated with a nearby church that was undertaking an adaptive re-use - to a community center, and the result was quite professional.
I would also contact the Columbia University School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, in NYC, and the Boston Architectural Center (BAC.)

Subject: [MassHistPres] Updating Surveys

Hello,

I am working with a community who is interested in asking a school program to partner with them to survey (using MHC forms) new cultural assets and update existing (1980’s) surveys. Have any communities worked with schools in such a way? They would like to reach out to our local history education programs with some examples of where this has worked elsewhere in the state.

Thank you,
Mackenzie Greer
