Grafton Celebrates Veterans Day Weekend With Two Special Events
World War II Monument Dedication– Friday, November 11th
Grafton Veterans Tell Their Stories – Sunday, November 13th

Grafton: The Grafton Historical Society has scheduled two special events to help celebrate Veterans Day Weekend. On Friday, November 11th, Veterans Day, we come together to pay tribute to the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces. This year we especially honor all of our Grafton residents who served in World War II with the dedication of Grafton’s World War II outdoor monument at the Grafton Common.
Guests will gather on the Grafton Common by 10:45 AM. The Honor Guard will be provided by the Grafton Delisle Goulet American Legion Post 92 and Grafton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1497. Veterans Day and Monument Dedication ceremonies will begin at the traditional hour of 11:00 AM. Following the ceremonies, there will be a reception in the lower hall of the Congregational Church hosted by the World War II Monument Committee. Everyone is invited to participate as the monument is formally presented to the town.
On Sunday afternoon, November 13th, the Historical Society will host a special afternoon entitled “Grafton Veterans Tell Their Stories” featuring a panel of Grafton’s living World War II veterans. Scheduled to appear are WWII Veterans Chuck Wenc, Nick Nicholson, AL Amour, Ken Larrivee, and Ed Such. This free event will be held starting at 2:00 PM at the South Grafton Community House at 25 Main Street in South Grafton.

The Grafton Historical Society is a private, non-profit 501c3 organization that collects, preserves and interprets all things related to the history of Grafton, Massachusetts.
