Joshua Craine of Daedalus, Ins will be visiting Abington Ma to assess the
Arch and Bridge located on Island Grove Park which was placed on the
National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The arch is in disrepair as is the
bridge and may need extensive structural restoration. The Abington
Historical Commission was not made notice that this assessment was to be conducted
until today..Our concern is that Mr. Craine qualifications may not meet
prodigal for conducting a structural assessment required for a national site
and preservation. Hence the AHC pose questions " has any community used the
consultant services of the Daedalus, Inc and is this company approved by
the MHC? There is a strong grass root movement in the private sector of
Abington to have the Arch restored by 2012 for the Towns 300 Birthday. The AHC
fears such a rush..

Thanks for any guidance

Robyn B Fernald
Chair of the Abington Historical Commission
