[MassHistPres] abandoned silo

Hello,
Falmouth's land trust has recently acquired a 90-year-old ceramic tile silo that was part of a small dairy farm.  A group of townspeople with the support of the Falmouth Historical Commission is urging that the silo be preserved as a rural area landmark.  The land trust is willing to keep the silo on site if it is not responsible for maintaining it.  We have asked local community preservation committee for help and are hoping for some assistance.

Would like to know if such structures are rare or commonplace in Massachusetts, where we might find more information about them, and if there are funding sources that might help refurbish a silo.
