[MassHistPres] old house insurance and windows?

I can attest to this. When Dick and Carrie-Nye Cavett's Stanford White-designed house in Montauk burned to the ground in 1997, they were insured with Chubb. We subsequently rebuilt the house using the same historic finish materials (the structure was upgraded, in order to meet modern codes and performance standards.)
The Contractor even duplicated the chatter-marks on the interior paneling - they could be identified in old pictures and in a couple of the neighboring MMW houses in the Historic District. And replaced the squeak in the stair (really.)

Chubb also provides full replacement cost insurance on historic houses.
We have had Chubb insurance on our c.1685 house for years. The Chubb agent came to our house and took lots of photos, so they knew exactly what they were getting into.

The Chubb Insurance Company offers the "Burgee Program" to cover Yacht
Clubs. The Beverly Yacht Club in Marion operates out of a building that was
built in the late 18th Century and uses this program for coverage. The
Gowrie Group is the broker for most of the clubs on the East Coast. You can
reach them at 860-399-2830. Ask for Dan Cooney, who is also an officer of
the BYC.
This should solve your problem.

And on a related note, can anyone provide names of companies in
Massachusetts who are comfortable with insuring historic buildings? The
building in question is an historic yacht club on the North Shore.
Thanks for any recommendations!
