Salem has a $9196 adopted budget for the Historical Commission. $8166 is used for salaries - about 10% of the city staffer's salary plus $75 per meeting for the minutes. The remaining $1030 goes toward printing costs (envelopes, letterhead) and other incidental costs. We do not pay for food or speakers.

Hello,
Am curious if any Historical Commissions on this list have budgets appropriated by their towns. If so, may I inquire about the amounts?
If you do not have budgets, where do you obtain the money to attend Historic Preservation Conferences, provide food and brochures for historical walks, or pay for speakers to give historical preservation talks?
Or do you pay out of your own pockets to promote preservation in your towns.
Many thanks for any info or ideas you can provide,
Julie Nardone
