Thanks for the various suggestions.
Michaela H. Jergensen, whose husband is an Historic Bridge Specialists for the state, ID'd the bridge and the building:
Ames Street, Dedham, looking northeast on the Charles River and the Dedham Boat Club boathouse.
The boathouse was built 1888, enlarged 1902 (see below), demolished 1935.
Re the unknown chapel. While the Cremitory idea still seems appealing, to me, for a number of reasons, a Cremation Association Historian is skeptical. So I'm still open to suggestions.
For anyone interested
Up to 1910 there were only about 50 crematories in operation, and only a handful were in the Northeast, even fewer in New England, namely Forest Hills in Boston, Mount Auburn in Cambridge, and Springfield Crematory in Springfield.
