We have used the following for private historic home art collections.

In Mendon, there is a cutting edge, small international family corporation
creating a big impact with cost-effective products that potentially will
work in a museum/art gallery situation.

One solution is to check out the "reversible" product that is applied to
walls for hanging items. It is fairly new to the market and is mostly sold
to the A&E and interior design industry, international retail companies,
corporate and educational organizations. No mechanical fastening needed.
