This is a very important Beaux Arts building — an unusual hybrid of French and American attitudes towards iron and glass. It would feel quite at home in certain early 20th C industrial parts of Paris.
It is owned by a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of historically and aesthetically important iron technology. Is there no chance of it being sold with a preservation restriction or as a single building LHD?

The building is listed on the National Register, making it eligible for both the MA and federal historic preservation tax credit programs. The property also includes an adjacent 4.5 acre parcel, much of which is currently used as parking.
