Dear colleagues,

Just reminder and a request that you share with colleagues and students
about the coming deadline (April 25, 2014) for registration for the 2014
UMass Field School in Building Archaeology, June 9 - 27, to be held at
UMass-Amherst and the Porter-Phelps-Huntington House in Hadley,
Massachusetts.

The Western Massachusetts Chapter of the AIA will be certifying continuing
education credits for the 4-day workshop on building technology and 1-day
workshop on dendrochronology.

Directed by Myron Stachiw <http://umasshsv.wordpress.com/bios/> and a team
of leading practitioners with more than 150 year of combined experience,
this immersive 3-week field school equips participants with the skills and
tools to evaluate, date, document and interpret historic buildings and the
changes made to them over time. You will participate in an intensive series
of lectures, workshops, field trips and hands-on workshops, including field
work on an actual building archaeology and documentation project at
the Porter-Phelps-Huntington
Museum <http://www.pphmuseum.org/> in nearby Hadley, MA.

The UMass Building Archaeology Field School is designed for:

   - Students, working professionals and aspiring practitioners in the
   fields of historic preservation, archaeology, architecture, and public
   history
   - Members of historical commissions and societies
   - Restoration craftspersons, planners and museum professionals
